I made my misguided way through college and graduate school without a single creative writing course—in much the same way I grew up in Vermont without learning to ski. There is no accounting for such lack of foresight. I am now the author of two young adult manuscripts, The Persephone Paradox and Lightning Dreams, but to this day remain a black-diamond-trail wannabe trapped in a novice skier’s body. I live in Rochester, New York, with my husband and two sons (who will both learn to ski and write stories while they are young, unlike me.)
I was a finalist in the 2010 Cup of Comfort/REDBOOK Love Story Contest and received a 2009 Silver Award from Parenting Publications of America. I have been published in Genesee Valley Parent Magazine, Rochester Baby Guide, and the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper. I am an active member of Rochester Area Children's Writers & Illustrators and coordinate fundraising efforts for the annual Rochester Children's Book Festival.
Perpetual student at Writers & Books, Rochester's outstanding literary center.
Alumna of Rochester Institute of Technology three times over: AS in Photography, BS in Business, and MBA in Marketing.
